Privacy policy

What we collect
Nothing. Cubeway sends no personal data to us, and we have no server.
Your progress
Cubeway keeps what you do in it: the modules you have finished, your solve, drill and timer times, your puzzle ratings, your algorithm reviews, your streak and badges, your blindfolded setup and letter pairs (including any pictures you choose for them), and the name you give the app, if you give one.
- It is stored on your device and, if you are signed in to iCloud, in your own private iCloud database, so it follows your Apple Account to your other devices. It is held under your Apple Account, and we cannot read it.
- Turning off iCloud for Cubeway in iOS Settings keeps everything on the device.
- There is no account to make.
- Deleting the app removes the copy on the device. To remove the iCloud copy as well, delete Cubeway’s data from iCloud in iOS Settings.
What the app uses on your device
- Camera: only while you scan your cube. The frames are read live on the device to find the colors, and they are never saved or sent.
- Photos: only the pictures you pick for letter pairs. Cubeway keeps a small copy of each with your progress; it cannot see the rest of your library.
- Reminders: if you turn them on, they are notifications scheduled on your device. Nothing sends them from a server.
- Story suggestions: in memo practice, a story for your words is written by Apple’s on-device model, where your device has one. Your words do not leave the device.
- Backups: a backup or a file of your solves is made only when you export one, and it goes only where you send it. Imports, including from csTimer, are read on your device.
- Sharing: when you share a day of puzzles, it goes only where you send it.
Network use
Apart from iCloud sync and the App Store subscription, Cubeway makes no network requests, and it works fully offline. It has no third-party analytics, advertising or tracking code.
Subscription (Cubeway Pro)
Cubeway Pro is billed by Apple through the App Store. Its plans renew until you cancel them in your Apple Account’s subscription settings. Pro forever is paid once and does not renew. We receive no payment details and no personal information from it. Apple’s privacy policy applies: apple.com/legal/privacy.
Children
Cubeway is suitable for all ages and collects no data from anyone, including children.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version is published at this address and the date above changes with it.
